After a 10-year hiatus from jewellery to pursue a career in eyewear design, Nicola, the founder and maker behind HOUSE17, felt the need to dust off her tools and get back to the workbench. Over the years, she has designed for several fashion and accessory brands ranging from high street to high end. In 2022, she decided to put that experience into action to help fulfil her dream of creating her own jewellery brand.
Getting back to handmade was one of her main drives for starting her own brand. Nicola uses the ancient technique of lost wax casting for a lot of the pieces in her collection. Intricately hand carving each piece from wax, before casting it in recycled silver, then finishing by hand.
HOUSE17 reflects Nicola’s passion for travel, nature, and the therapeutic benefits of creativity. Each piece is designed to evoke a feeling. HOUSE17’s mission is to empower self-confidence and expression, encouraging escapism through creativity.
