Silver clay is an eco-friendly material made using recycled silver particles, an organic plant-based binder to bind the particles together and some water. This material can be moulded, shaped and textured. After drying, the clay is fired using a jewellers torch or in a kiln. The binder burns away, leaving the pure sintered metal. The result is a piece of metal of hallmark quality.

Grain & Glaze creates unique small batch ceramics that beautifully blend traditional techniques with a modern, minimalist aesthetic. 

Each piece is thoughtfully crafted by Elise, the artist behind the brand, whose artistic journey is deeply inspired by her Asian heritage and formative years spent living in Hong Kong, as well as the nature of Devon, where she grew up. Elise’s work reflects the beauty of traditional East art forms, infused with the organic and earthy influences of Devon’s landscapes. Inspired by textures in nature, Elise incorporates materials like Icelandic beach sand into her latest pieces, creating a connection between art and nature.
